Morning sickness is a kind of nausea which occurs along with occasional vomiting especially during pregnancy. Most pregnant women suffer from this disease especially during the morning; therefore the term morning sickness is used. For those women who use hormonal tablets or even any kind of contraceptive, this nausea and vomiting occur regularly. In less that 1% cases, there is a dehydration for which the patient may be required to be admitted in a hospital.
Morning sickness may occur at any time of the day. It especially occurs immediately after waking since the blood pressure remains the lowest after a night’s sleep, when the cholesterol level remains the lowest. Morning sickness usually occurs from the 3rd week of pregnancy and lasts till the 6th week. Doctors say that it is a good sign, since it indicates the placental development. Morning sickness remedies have therefore been invented by experts. The morning sickness remedies include a series of home made remedies as well as allopathic medicines. The home remedies for morning sickness include smell of freshly cut lemon, ginger ale and ginger snaps. Moreover, an important home remedy for morning sickness is to drink water 45 minutes after taking the meal. Eating dry crackers in the morning is also very helpful.
